We are a law firm based in Nilüfer, Bursa, founded in 2017 by Av. Arb. Emine Feyza Aslan. **Both of our lawyers speak English**, so you can discuss your matter directly with the lawyer handling it, not through an intermediary. We advise foreign nationals living in Bursa, people buying property here from abroad and Turkish-foreign families.

## How we can help

**Buying property in Bursa.** Before you pay a deposit we check the title deed record (tapu) for mortgages, liens and annotations, confirm zoning and the occupancy permit, and review the sales contract. We then attend the transfer at the land registry with you or on your behalf. If you are planning to apply for a residence permit or Turkish citizenship through property, we check the conditions before you commit. [Read our guide for foreign buyers](/en/bursa-property-lawyer/).

**Divorce, custody and recognition of foreign judgments.** We handle uncontested and contested divorce before the Bursa family courts, child custody and maintenance, and the recognition in Turkey of divorce judgments issued abroad. **Inheritance.** When a foreign national inherits property in Turkey, or a Turkish relative dies leaving property to heirs abroad, a certificate of inheritance and a transfer at the land registry are needed. We obtain the certificate, handle the transfer and the inheritance tax return, and advise on dividing or selling shared property.

**Employment.** Foreign employees in Bursa’s industrial and automotive sector have the same rights as Turkish employees under the Labour Act, including severance pay and notice pay. Claims must first go to mandatory mediation. We represent employees and employers in mediation and before the labour courts.

**Criminal matters.** If you or a family member are questioned, detained or charged in Bursa, we attend police and prosecutor interviews, challenge detention orders and defend the case at trial. Anyone who does not speak Turkish is entitled to a free interpreter.

**Tenancy.** We advise landlords and tenants on rent increases, eviction and deposit disputes, which must also go to mediation before court.

## How we work with international clients

1. **First contact:** Send us a short description through the form below or by e-mail. We reply in English.
2. **Consultation:** We meet at our office in Nilüfer or by video call, explain the legal position and the likely steps, and give you a written fee quote.
3. **Engagement:** We sign a written fee agreement. If you are abroad, we tell you exactly which power of attorney is needed and where to sign it.
4. **Regular updates:** You receive written updates in English after each hearing or step, together with a short explanation of what comes next.

We act only for our clients. We do not receive commission from estate agents, developers or other intermediaries, which keeps our advice independent.

## Frequently asked questions

### Do I need to be in Turkey to hire a lawyer in Bursa?

No. You can instruct us by e-mail and video call. For most court cases and title deed transactions we act for you under a power of attorney, which you can sign at a Turkish notary with a sworn translator, at a Turkish consulate abroad, or before a foreign notary with an apostille and certified translation.

### Are you registered with the Turkish bar?

Yes. Av. Arb. Emine Feyza Aslan is registered with the Bursa Bar Association under number 4195 and is also a registered mediator. Only lawyers registered with a Turkish bar may represent clients before Turkish courts and give legal advice on Turkish law.

### How are legal fees calculated in Turkey?

Fees are agreed in writing before work starts and may not be lower than the minimum fee tariff published each year by the Union of Turkish Bar Associations. We quote a fixed fee or a stage-based fee depending on the matter, and list court and notary costs separately.

### Can you help if a foreign relative has been detained in Bursa?

Yes. A detained person has the right to see a lawyer at any time, to remain silent and to have an interpreter free of charge. Call us directly rather than using the form, as the first hours of a criminal investigation are critical.
